The effort to raise a bonus to induco the Hay and Todd company at Ypsilanti to establish a large branch faetory here is a good one and should have the hearty support of our citizens. Mrs. Abram Abel, the mother of Fugene Abel, who was partner of Phillip Bach, of the firm of Bach and Abel, died at her home in Fultonville, New York last Sunday night at an advaneed age. Mr. O. E. Wagner, Prin. of the Shorthand school reports a bright outlook for this fall. He states that the inquiries from various parts of the state indícate alarger attendance than ever before. For several months past the school has not been ablo to supply the demandthat has been made upon it for firot class stenographers by business men. This a petty good indication that business is picking up. A quiet wedding was celebaated at the home of the bride's mother Mis Mary E. Worrall, 53 S. Division-st.. on Thursday, when Miss Grace D. Worrall was united in marriage to Mr. Benjamin Wade Burleigh, of Yankton, Dak. The cermony was performed by Rev. J, M. Gelston only the immediato family being present. The happy couple left on the evening train for Chicago.where Mr. Burleigh will complete his course in the Congregational Theologieal Seminary this f all. - Saturday's Times. Mrs. Anna M. Weitbrecht died of oíd age yesterday afternoon at the home of herson-in-law Gottlob Staebler of Dixboro, aged 8ö years, 4 months and 5 days. One daughter Mrs. Gottlob Staebler, of Dixboro, one son Jacob Weitbrecht, of Howell, and a nnmber of grand children survive her, The funeral surviees will be held at the house tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, Rev. Max Hein officiating. The remains will be interred in Forest Hill cemetary about 1.30 P. M. tomorrow. Mrs. Weitbrecht was a resident of this city for a great many years, living on W.' Liberty-st. She went to live with her daughter about four or five years ago. - Friday's Times. Dr. Mary Wood-Allen, national superintendent of the "Purity" departinent of the W. C. T. U., will deliver a lectura in the M, E. church next Sunday evening under the auspiees of the Womaa'i Christian Temperenee Uuion. Her subject will be "Heredity" or"The Bequest we Make Our Children." In 1875 Mrs. Allen reeeived a medical diploma from the Uniersity of Michigan. After this she spent three years in study and travel in Europe. She spent a year and a half in a hospital at Vienna. Austria. Beven years Mrs. Allen has been one the most popular and successful national lecturers of the W. C. T. U. Her writings which are quite numerous, show reat literary ability. All who can possibly do 8O should hear this lecture.
