Grandma'a Funeral
, A sad-eyed schoolboy approached the naster and begged leave of absence for he afternoon, in order to run the erands of his sick grandmother. The aaster, pltying the helplessness of the nflrm oíd woman, granted his requeat. íome time after the boy again asked ermlssion to be absent, as his grandnother was dying, and, needless to say, lis petition was a second time granted. V few days later the poor boy, with ears in his eyes, begged leave to atend his grandmother's funeral, and for he third time he was excused attendince at school. About 5 p. m. the same 'ay an irate female viciously rang the loor-bell and indignantly demanded o( he schoolmaster why the boy was deained at school every afternoon. "My ear woman," exclaimed the astonished ledagogue, "I thought you were dead nd buried. Your grandson has gone o vtmr fnnpral!"
