The school election held Monday developed some rather unexpected features. At the caucus held Friday night to nominate candidates, the retiring members of the board excepting C. Mack, were not in it. The meeting was largely attended. M. J. Cavanangh acted as chairman. The flrst nominees were C. Mack and R. Shannon. The result was, Mack Ki2, Shannon 73, scatterlng 4. Por the seeond trustee. Dr. D. Zimmerman, R. Shannon, W. G. Doty and Mrs. A.B. Bach were norainated.lt took three ballots to settle the nomination, wbich resulted in the oholce of R. Shannon. It was cle arly evident atthis time that there had been a hasty combination between the Bach and Shan. non forces and that the nominee for the third place would be Mrs. P. Bach. With this end in veiw Mrs. Bach'a name was withdrawn after the balloting had been commenced. For the third position there were several candidates but they were all withdrawn and the field left clear to Mrs. Phillip Bach who was promptly nominated. It was clearly evident at the time that there were more or less dissatisfaction with the way things had gone and that there would be other tickets in th3 field on election day. This proved true as it was soon manifest that the other two retiring members of the board were not ready to surrender if they could help it. Before the polls ivere opened printed slips with the names of C. Mack, J. E. Beal and W. W. Whedon were being passed. Soon tickets with Mrs. P. Bach in place of W. W. Whedon were also numerously circulated. It was evident that the friends of the candidatos were out in force, and that ai k-ast one of the candidates who was nominated Frida night was not ia the race. Allhoug the rush was not so great as last year very good voto was polled. The re sult stood as folio ws : 'liri.stian Mack 58 Junius E. Beal 48 Anna B. Bach 45 Wm. W.
