The W. C. T. U. of this city has made and will continue to make a vigorous protest against the salo of liquors at the county fair. At a recent meeting the following resolutions were unanimously adopted: "Whereas.-Tho right to sell intoxicating liquors npon the fair grounds was granted last jear by the directora of the county fair"Whereas, It has been customary to have one day during the fair known as children's day, and for which a half holiday is annually given in the public schools. " Therefore, resolvsd, lat. We thus publicly protest against the sale of intoxicating liquors on the fair grounds as olïensive to self respecting citizens and injurious to the best intereats of the fair. "2d. As parents and citizens we are convinced that it is not in the interests of public morality or the welfare of our children that the public schools should grant a half holiday for a fair which is unclean, a thing inevitable where liquors are sold upon the ground. "3d. That these resolutions be adopted by a rising vote and the vote be counted, a record made of the same and presented by a committee to the directora of the fair and the school board, and a report be made next Sunday evening.
