A handsome epictomic directory (Lilliputian size) from the Northville Record "printerjy' J. S. Neal, editor and professor, is before us. It is an artistic announccment of the advantages oí Northville and a condensed, but accurate pointer to the residence and business places of the city, and thoroughly up to date with every inhabitant born and named within 15 minutes of going to press. The personnel of the council, committees, village officers and fire alarms are features. The place has electric lights- obviating the need of the council having guideboards to get home - and numerous and important factories, including a needed jag-cure. The directory is a handy littlc book. An item in +,ho Ann Arbor Courier, describes a triangular load pencil. The compositor went twice to the editor to have him interpret the last two linea which proved to read as follows: "This item was written with one, and this manuscript can't be beat." We can boast of tho flnest cquipped post-oflice in Southern Michigan. - Dundee Cor Sun. In this do you embrace the two handsome lady olerks? Rev. Fred. Britton, of Albion, preached at the unión meotinjr held in the Presbyterian church last Sunday even ing.- Ypsilantian. This is not tho Fred. Britton [of the Evenlng News, whom the miners recently chased, empty stomached out of Ishpemins;-, poordevil! Fred. is a lively newspapor man, but tbe gospel in his hands would be a dcad failure. Tho Courier doos not considcr it fair coward politicians to have two Washtenaw farmers' picnics in tho county on the, same day. Now, it asks, "is the politician and office seeker to divide himself and attend both places.'' Was thero ever a politician who couldn't play doublé as easy as running down mil without Sreeching? Ii Washtenaw has such a politioian let him be trappod for a freak, and exhibted at the bi? fall fair. Every man, woman and child in] the county and all the surrounding counties will be there to sec hlm. Ho can readily be distinguished from the other stock by the niumbus about his head, and the cordon of beneflcent gods and good angels, attending him. The new training school at Ypsilanti, whcn it is Becured, will be a second grcat boon to Normal education. Does any one "tumble" tothe iï i-st ?
