Boaton has just entertained one of the linest bodies of organized men ever g-athered in the United States in time of peace. The tri-ennial conclave of the Knights Templar of America wiis held in that city of culture and baked beans and the American Athenans vvere atnply repaied for the elabórate preparations they made to entertain the Sir Knights, of whom over .(O,üüO had made the pilgrimage o that city. The hrst preat feature of the conclave after the arrival of the numerous commanderies was the parade, in which -5,000 Sir Knights parieipated. It is estimated that fully 500,000 peole crowded the sto-ects of Boston to vitness the grand paj: jant, and business was entirely suspended throughout the day. Uoston has seldom if ever been so elaborately decorated. 'ractically every building along the ine of of mareh was clothed in color, vith appropriate mottoes and emblems ntertwined . ith streamers and buntng. As the marching columns passed he revicwinaf stands before the Most Cminent (írand Commander McCurdy, of Michigan, and Gov. Ureenhalge, of Massachusetts, and before Chief Marshal Lawrence and Mayor Curtís, many of the commanderies executed ntricate military evolutions which won the admiration of the thousands )f spectators who witnessed thera. Jetroit commandery, as special escort to Most Eminent Grand Commander McCurdy, attracted much attention and was vociferously eheered as they executed many difficult evolutions. )hio was well represented, having 17 commanderies in line.
