Divorce has been legal in France now .or eiht years. The first year the numer granted was 1,700; the second, 1.000; in 1894 it was 8,000. The total :or eight years is 40,000. The working ilasses supply the largest proportion, 17 per cent; the peasants the sraallest t per cent.
