Dr. Wilbert B. HlDftdale, who ha been choseu as the professor of the Theory and Practice of Medicine in the homeopathie department of tlie t'niversity, and as deán of the departinéat, was liorn in Wadsworth, Medina connty, Ohio, in 1851. He is a brother of Dr. B. A .Ilinsdale, of the department of Literatuie, Science and the Arts. He graduated at Hiram College, Ohio, in 18ïr, and pent s veral years in teacblnf in the coininon schools and hijrli schools of ohio. Later he etndled medicine. lie was reglstered in the office of Drs. Boynton & Schnelder, Cleyeland, at the time two of the best known Homeopathie physicians in the state. He graduated at the oíd Cleveland Homeopathie Collegej :iow tlie Cleveland rniveisily. and entered Hpon the practice of medicine and ííery, in which he has glnce been ngaged. Several yeora ago he became a nu'inber of the faculty of the ooilege n whlch he had recelved lus professional education. and has becoitte in Increasingly prominent member of tlip faculty f rom the time of his deetion. For the last vo or tnree years he has fillcd the chairs of materia medica and practice. At the time of liis election to the position to whlch he Was called he was the registrar of the inntitution. performing dut es very similar to thosc tliat are attaclied to ih. dcan'. office in the Homeopathie Department of the ünlversity. Dr. Hinsdale has been eminently successful as a teacher of medical students, and pomesses also the qnalirications of a successful adïi'inistrator. He comes to the Vnivcrsity in tlie prime of life. and wlll devote all his euergies to opbnlldmg the (Icpartment.
