Man Taken From a C. S. Stemmer aml Shot The steamer City of Sydney, which arrived at San Francisco from Panama, brought particulars of the capture of Florencio Hustamento, otíe of Antonio Ezeta' s favorite lieutenants - who had come on board at Corinto, Nicaragua, - by Salvador authorities at La Libertad. It is supposed by the Spauish-Americans who came up on the City of Sydney that ) l has been torn to pieces by an infuriaoed mob or publicly shot in the streets of the city of San Salvador. The arrest of Bustamento while aboard an American ship is said to be in direct violation of international law and the turbulent little Central American republic may be called to account for its high-handed action by the l'nited States. Gapt. Johnston, of the City of Sydney, refused to discuss the matter, saying that he could not do so until he had first consulted his superiors. Bustamento was one of the men who accompanied ex-President Ezeta, of Salvador to San Francifico on the V. S. warship Bennington, after escaping from Salvador subsequent to the downfall of the Ezetas. The rebel President (ieterre. made repeated demands for their surrender, but the captain refused to give them up. Kefore the matter was settled with the United States authorities, the Kenning-ton was ordered to San Francisco. The case of the refugees was tried in the U. S. courts and attracted world-wide attention. The result was that the United States refused to give up the men. All but Ezeta lelt San Francisco and it is novv said that Ezeta is planning to return to Salvador to overthrow the present government.
