Monday a dispute aróse betvvcen two ooloreá men at VVhittaker over the lo" atioii of a line fenee. James Thompson, one of the men, claimed that the fence was three feet on his land. Bry ant, his neiuhbor, denied this and attempted to repair the fence on the old Line. This was resisted by Thompson when lU-yant struck him two times with ax, one of the blows inflicting a severe vound in 'J hompson's shoulder Bry ant has been arrestod. It cannot be told yet what will be the result of Tiompson's wound.
