Caot. Fred Larsen, of Co. A, Fifth lnfantry, of Big Rapids, has reslgned. The Tilden mine at Bessemer has closed down one shaft and let out 200 men. A big revival has justended at Deerfield. Over 100 conversions are reported. The North Michigan Schoolmaster's club was held at Petoskey with a large attendance. Wesley Hainer, aged 55, was kicked to death by a horse on his farm near Marine City. The rendition of Shakespear's "Julius Caesar" by the U. of M. students was a brilliant success. James Kelley, an aged Benton Harbor veteran, was probably fatally injured by a f all down stairs. A daughter of Char'es Seidel, aged se ven, was instan tly Ulied by being struck by an electru car at Grand Rapids. Charles Eber, of Bainbridge, aged 2.ï, was killed by the reeoil of a capstansweep, while he was , pulling stumps. Sands' luraber milis, the chief industry of Lake City, are about to close down, and the people wonder what is to become of the villag-e. Fred Johnson, the colored man who fatally shot Will Crockett, near Royal Oak, has been released, the evidence showing that he fired in self-defense. Albert Pelligrini, an Austrian, a resident of Vulcan, was run over by a passenger train and had both legs cut off, in the presence of several hundred people near the passenger depot at Iron Mountain. There is but little hope of saving the leg and imputation may cause death. The tuberculin test was recently applied to the 52 cattle at Agricultural joüee, and as a result e.ight were found to be affected by tuberculosis.
