Beíore another issue of The Register the people of this country wih have settled the issues of a great campaign, and we believe, will have settled it rifht. Ia the contest for free silver or for sound money, people have become so wrought up that many voters are Hable to lose sight of what are usually considered the minor queatlons in the campaign. We refer to our local candidates. As Th Register prored bejond any question in its last issue the pust two years of Republican county administration has actually saved to the tx payers of this county nearly $30,000. The officials who have conducted the aiïairs of this county at guch a larga 80 ving to the tax payers, are roady to continue to manage the county's affairs for another two years in the same econoinieal manner. They are before the poople for re-election and should be retained in office by a rousing majority. In county affaire, the ffreat political questions which divide partie do nut play a prominent part, so that voters slïould consider the men who are olicititi their support. COUNTY TREASXTREK. Never before in the his tory of Waahtenaw county has the business of the treasurer's office been kept ia better shape than it has during the past two years by Mr. Rehfuss and his able deputy, Mr. P. J. Lehman. Everybody who has had busioess with the county treasurer has found everythlng 1 shape and has receired the most cordia treatment. A vote for Mr. Eehfuss ii a vote to have the county traasurer's office run right. COUNTY CLBRK Mr Dansingburg has been the most painstaking and careful county clerk we have over had. One thing ia particular we wish to cal! attention to in con neetion with this office and that to the matter of ices. Mr. D&nsiugburg, in hundreds of eaaea, has not eharged the full amount' or anything lige the full amount, to which he ia entitled by law. This is a record that few if any former clerks can show. No has ever heanT the claira that Mr. Dansingburg has been working the office for all that it is worth as it ia erally adinitted was done by sonae of his predecessorB. Then, too, the clerk has the placing of a large number of orders for county supplies. The large saving in the county expenses during the past two years, is due in no mail degree to Mr. Dansingburg's economy. The tax payers of this county will be voting money into their own pockets by their ballots for Wm. Dauaiugb urg for county clerk. SHERIFF. Ererybody knows "Billy" Judión, and, except in the case of someone having an ax to grind, every one admita that he has made an admirable sheriff, and that his expense during the past two years have been lower than that of any sheriff of this county for vears. A vote for Mr. Judson next Tuesday will be a vote for a careful, conscientiout, and painstaking official. Hii record while in office, has been auch that he should be elected by a rousing majority PROSECUTING ATTOKNEY. S. C. Randall is beforo the people for reelection. It scarcely seems necessary that a word be said for Mr. Randall. Anybody who will take the trouble to investígate will ünd that Mr. Randall's administration of hls office has resulted in the sav'mg to the county of thousands of dollars, ♦ In settling up cases, and refusing to prosecute in many instaneet wheje prosecution would be useless, and by doing the work himself, thui saving the county large fees, Mr. Randall has merited the support of the roters of Washtenaw county and he will b elected by a rousintj majority JUDOE OF PROBATE. Hon. H. Wirt Newkirk. of Dexter, is th Republicau nomiuee for Judge of Probate. He is one of Our energeti young business men. He has had experience as a newspaper man, an ttorney, legislator, and banker. He U a man of sound sensoand good judgement and would fill the office of Judge of Probate in a manner that would be atisfaetory to all. Remember to vote for Mr. Newkirk for Judgeof Probat next Tuesday. Without exception all the other candidates on the Ilepublican ticket ara men who are worthy the support of every voter in the county ahd we believe will be elected by a rood big ma' jority.
