The senior de ata will have a class cano. Frank Harper, 00 law, is now estabished ín Chicago. Work in the Medical department was suspended Tuesday. Harry Huber, '90 law, is In Cantón, Miss,, wher.e he is agont fora nicrchantile firm. A number of young people met at 10 Observatory St. last JBYiday evening and organized a whist club. S; A. Stein has been elected captain of th)9 foot ball team to succeed excaptain Comstcck who resisrned. The all freshman team will go to Toledo on Thanksgiving day whcre they will play the Toledo High School. Next Thursday evening the Y. M. C. A. prayer meeting will be load by Mr. Howard. Subject, "J,go fishing." Bert Sweet, Pharmic 1900, of Carson City, Michigan, has returned to college ayear's absence through sickness. An informal reception was given to Prof. Graham Taylor Saturday evening in the ladies' parlora of Newberry Hall. Frank Emerlck, Law '98, has gone homo to work in hls brother's Law office. He will return next October to continua his law course. The Philological society held the first meeting of the year last week. Prof. Hempl is now president of the society and Mr. Effinger isSecretary. The Germán club held its second meeting last Priday evening and admitted several new members. Next meeting of the club will be at Mrs. E. Eberbachs. The Y. M. C. A. Biblc classes begin next Sunday. The work will be divided into two parts. One ill study the life and writingsof Paul and the other the Harmony of the Gospels. Halloween was unmarked by any student demonstration this year. The evening passed quietly and aside from a small band of high school boys the campus was almost deserted. A good game will be witnessed on the Athletic Field. The Ann Arbor High School will play the all frcshman team. Both teams are in good shape aud even playing is expected. Admission 25 cents. Dillon, freshman law, lcnew Bryan would be elected. So sure was he of it that he was willing to make a bet that Bryan would win or forfeit two meáis a day for a week. He now has a gone and hungry look. The professional women's spread was held Saturday evening in Newberry Hall, Dr. E. M. Mosher the guest of honor. About 150 vromen from the medical, law, pharmaceutical anddental departements were present and passed a very enjoyable evening. Miss Anna E. Kunkle, a well known reader from Boston, will give readings from "As you liKe it" in the law lecturo room tomorroiv night. Tho entertainment is under the auspices of the Ora torical association and members will be admitted frcc. Others will be chargcd 25 cents. The Y. M. C. A. will observe the week of prayer foi' young men which begins Sunday next. During the week there will be special services held every evening from 7 to 7 :30. All young men of the University are invited to be present at these meetings and help by their presence to make them a power for good. Our former trainer, Mr. Fitzpatrick, - now in Yale, in writing to Dr. Fitzgerald lately, said: "We are having a hard time with every team we play. Every single one of them outweiffhs us, still before the season closcs we expect to get things going and play in true Yale form. Our team is notyet in oonuition and will not be until a week before tho Princeton game." Mr. Fitzpatrick also expresses nis pleasure at the triuraphs of our team and at the successful work being done in the Waterman Gymnasium.
