Washington, Oct. 29.- Secretary of the Navy Herbert, before leaving for Alabama, eelected the ñames for the new battte-ships and gunboats now under construction. The three battleehips will be known as the Aleíbama, Illinois and Wisconsin. The graboata will bear the ñames Annapoiis, Maxietta, Newport, Princeton, Vicksburg and Wheellng.
