Hanged To A Tree

Coïumbus, Miss., Nov. ZX. - Mims Collier, ■! negro, atteiapced an assault Monday upon Miss Tillie Vaughan, a respectable white woman living about ïwelve railes east of this city in the vicinity ol Steenston. Collier had a preliminary trial, was bound over to the Circuit court and was 'held at a store near Steenston in charge of Constables Watson and Mehaffy. Monday night a job of over one hundrsd men overpow,ed these officers, and Tuesday morning Collier's body was found dangling from the limb of a near-by tree.
