Hebrews Do Not Like It

Cinoinnati, Ohio, Nov. 23.- The Hebrews of this city are indignant over the language in President Cleveland's Thanksgiving proclamation, exception being taken to the words, "Asking a continuance of heavenly favor through the mediation of Hira vho taught us how to pray." The proclamation will be discussed in the synagogues to-day. Habbi. Isaac M. Wise, the venerable editor and theologian, is out in an interview regretting "that the president panders to the passions of those bigoted sectarians who have been endeavoring to undermine the pure secularism upon which this government is based." Other rabbis are more severo V.i their language. Rabbi Phillipsou Bays the Hebrews feel excluded from t'ae invitation to observe the day.
