Doubt The Story Of Maceo's Death

Washington, Dec. JO.- Señor de Lome, the Spanish minister, received a cable dispatch from Havana last night-which seoms to bear out the press roport of the death oL Antonio Maceo and young Gómez. At the Cuban 'eadquarters here no alarm is feit at i he reported death of the insurgent general Maceo. It is declared the story has no basis of truth and was sent out for the solé purpose of influcncing and if possible, deferring action by the congress of the United States.
