Chicago, Dec. 12.- Haunted by the tear of poverty, Joseph Kowalski, a Gcrrntn-Pole, drank a bottle of carbolic acid and died. Kowalski had a wife and two children. He was a laborer, 45 years of age, and for thre months had been out of employraent.
