On the western coast of África they have a singular and always a fatal malady which is known as the sleeping disease. The person attacked by It Is seizedwih a sensation of drowsiness. which continúes to increase in spito of the efforts made to tlirow it off. Finally, the patiënt sinks into a profound sleep, which continúes about three weeks.ór until death ensues. The moet curious feature of the tffsease is that, aside from drowsiness, the patiënt ! seems nrnch as usual.
