Illinois Factory Inspectors Report

Springfield, 111., Jan. 4.- The fourth animal report of the factory inspeetors ■went to Governor Altgeld Friday. The statistical tables of the report for 189G i :■'.■: that there have been inspected ('uring the year 6,607 faetones and workshops, in sixty-three cities and tewns, employing 162,019 men, 30,781 women, and 7,340 children, a total of 200,140 employés. Of these G.607 factories and workshops 2,378 are sweatshops, employing 6,383 men, 7,181 women, 128 boys, and 1,060 girls, a total of 14,752 employés. The word children means persons under 10 years of age.
