A newly desgned double-barreled gun iias only one trigger, a lever being us(l to change the actlon to either side as desired. A handy devlce for opticians consists of ar. indicator to tell Oie angle at whick the nose-piece of eye glasses must be set to flt the nose. Blackiug brushes for use with liquid. have a reservoir in the dauber, together with a tube running into the bristles ihrough which the polish runs. A Massaehusetts woman has a patented leather dressing consisting of a compound of wax, rubber, gutta cna, spamsn íicorice and pararan oil, the proportions being secret. Circular extensión tables are madc with. a uumber of slots on the under ide into which the supports of semicircular leaves are pushed to increaso tlio circumferetíce of the tablo. A New York woman has designed a glass oven door in connection with a device for opening and closing the dampers by nieans of the expansión and contraction of the glass píate. In connection with the foot plate and heel and toe clamps there is a brace running up to the calf of the leg to mako it more rigid. The latest curtain pole is cut into two equal sections lengthwise, hinged to each othor and having a hole bored through it to hold a rod on whieh the curtain is hung, thus putting the hangers out of sight. A new combination tooi will drive or pull a nail and can be used as a pipe wrench. It has a movable beak, one side of which grips the heads of nails, the other side having teeth to hold the ' pipe solidiy for turning.
