Fire On Miners
Ottawa, 111., Jan. 9. - The minera at Kuiland wore ui In armsand ready fcr trouble early this morning. Sheriff Yockey and his corps of 20 deputies arrived In Kutland at '! o'clock. A.t 6:30 the coal miners congrogated in one of the public streets and marched lo Mr. Hakes' shafl. Th en the trouble started. They began to destroy the mine property and were attaeked by the deputies. The fight grew so severe tliat Yockey orrtered his men to open flre, snd later reporte are to the effect that two men were soriously wounded. The sheriff s posse includes lli picled men of Co. 0, Illinois National Guard, armed with repeating rifles.
