Arrangetnents are all practically cotnpleted for the greatest celebration ever held in Washtenaw county. The various committees which were ap pointed tü at rang-o for the celebration on the Third have done their wrk well so that thpre can be no doubt as to tile success of Ann Arbor's attempt to properly celébrate the i'irth of the greatest nation upon the face of the earth. Between 150 and 200 of our leading business men have sisrnified their intention to tako part in the monster 'parade and will represent thoir business by elabórate tloats. There will also be ."000 school children, 1000 fraternity men, several military com panies and at least seven or eight brass bands ie the parade. This will make the prooession at least three or four miles in length. In the afternoon there will be a balloon ascensión and a parachute drop byGeo. Rooney, of theNorth Side. At one L. m. there will be an eloquent address upon the court house square. In the evening the military eompanies will give a dress parade and drill. This will bo followed by one of the flnest displays of Ore work3 ever given in this city. Mayor Chas. E. Iliscock will act as president of the day. Major Harrison Soule has been chosen marshal of the day. Major Howard will be here in charge of the first batsrllion all the compauies of which will be present. The committee for Germán Day had a meeting a few days ago and are making preparations for the event, Mcssrs Elsasser and Jedele were in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti yesterday to confer with the Germán societies, who promise to do what they can to aid the committee lo make the day a success. L. J. Lise mer of the Ann Arbor Daily Titnes will be requested to speak in English and Cario Hess, of the Hausfreund Pjst, will deliver the principal oration in (íerman. The Leader hopes that citizns of Dexter will aid the com mlttee in maklng the day a memorable one.
