An article in the Detroit paper3 Tuesday tel Is of the suicide of Nathan fl. Zieree, of this city, as follows: While John Hays was inspectingsome cars on the Grand Trunk switches above Walkerville he found an insensible man in one of them. He immediately notified Chief of Pólice ürifflths and the man was removed to the pólice station. Dr, Hoare was called, and aftor working on him an hour succeeded in heart action. The man did not regain oonsciouaness and was conveyed to the Hotel Dieu. where he died at 1 1;30 p. m. An oxamination of his pockets revealed a druggist's envelope labeled "morphine," and inside the envelope was the small paper ie which the powder is kopt. He had a small dictionary in his pocket and between the leaves was a scrap of paper with the following words written on it: "In case I die, I am Nathan H. Pierce, Ann Arbor, Mich., ü. S. A." The man mentioned in the article is wejl known bere aud is a brother of Edwin H. Pierce, a printer employed in the Inland Press office. He is twen seveu years old and left here for Detroit last week. He had worked at several trades especiajly jwinting and hat making. Mr. Pierce is said to have beon universally liked here. His brother thinks dispondency resulting from lack of work was the cause of the guioide, As The Reöister goea to Piesg tho verdict of the coroners jury is ie oeived which is that Mr. Pierce died a natural death and did not commit suicide.
