J. S. Mann, who lives north of this oity, has oommenced suit against Albert and Benjamin Shellborn for assault and battery. The men were brought before Justice Dulïy and gave bonds of $100 each. The Shell horos had arranged to cut and draw soyne hay belonging to Mr. Mann anl were to have a share of ihe hay for their work. On Saturday a quarrel arose, Mann claiming the other parties were gettiny more than their share of the hay. A flght resulted in vvhich Mr, Mann, whois rather old, got the worst of it and was severely pounded about the head and face. Mann flnally broke away, ran to the house, got a revolver and opened lire on hls adversarles who made good time in getting otf the farm and out of the way of Mr. Mann's bullets. Neither of thetn were hurt. Each side claims that the other began the fight and it is difficult to learn the exact facts in the case.
