Theneedsfor a drinking fountain are great in Ann Arbor. Enquiry is f requently made as to why we are so saving of our spring water. We f urnish horses all they want at several different points tn the city, but we do not permit our neighbors or etrangors in our midst to partake, unless tliey first enter someone's premises and ask. Will not someone take sufficient interest in the matter to start the ball rolling ? At the last meeting of the W. C. T. U. a very interesting talk on work on the Indian Reservation in N. Y. was given by Mrs. VanVaulkenburg. The daywas not so warm as anticipated, but the cake and cream served were very refreshing, enabling the members to enjoy a half hour of sooiability. The next meeting will be held on the other side of the bridge, in the little church on Wall-st., instead of at the Y. W. C. A. rooms. This is with a view to organizing a Union on tho other side of town. It is hoped every member will be there, next Thursday, Aug. 12, at 3 p. m.
