A farm house ownen and occupiett Dy amuel Carson and situated three milea north of Galesburg ' was, by a ecoud attempt, wrecked by dynaniite. dr. Cavson is a farmer aud capitalist owning a residence in the village, whero his family resides. He is 70 'ears oí age and is wealthy. Besides limself, a woman and lier son residing n the family, were in the building at tie time of the explosión, which is descrlbed as having been terrific. The estruction was complete. StraDge to ay, aside froin slight injuries, none of tie oecupants were hurt. There are arious reasons alleged for these atempts upon Mr. Carson's life and roperty. Investigation shows the amage to have been caused by placng dynamite about two feet from the oundation of the house and attaching a fuse some 45 feet in length. Abscondlng Bank Cashler Captared. Cyrus E. Breder, formerly a cashier n the First National bank at New ïethlehem, Pa., was arrested at St. Clair, Mieh., by U. S. Marshal Large, of Detroit. He is charged with etnezzlement and the amount taken is ilaced at 830,000. Breder has been enjaged in the bieycle business in St. ilair for the past nine months, in the irm of Breder & Ash. He brought his amily to St. Clair shortly after his arrival and they have been consldered wealthy people. Breder's shortages were discovered about a year ago, but ie eluded the officers. He says he ,ook the money at various times beiause his salary was too sinall to allow lim to live. He had beeji wlth the ank for over 30 years.
