The triennial meeting of the Grand Council of the Catholic Mutual Benefit Association brought about 100 persons ;o this city from all over Michigan. The council was in session twodays and jartook of a sumptuous banquet at the Cook House Wednesday might. The following officers were elected or tlie coming term. Pres., Charles C. Clancy, of Port üuron; flrsb vice-pres., Warren A. Carter, of Muskegon ; second vice-pres., Geo. H. Fisher, of Ann Arbor; grand secretary, John H. Breen, of Detroit; grand treasurer, Antony Czizek, cf Mt. Clemens ; marshal, Edward Purso, of Hancock; guard, J. J. McCormick, of Monroe. members of the board of .rustees, Alex, Chapoton, jr.. of Detroit; ohn Schroeder. of Detroit ; John Donoan, of Bay; delegates to the supreme ouncil, Rev. Joseph Schrembs, of Bay City, C. C. Clancy, of Port Huron, and Andrew Doy Ie, of Grand llapids. Mt. Ciemens was chosen as the next meet. ng place for the convention whichdoes not assemble again until 1900.
