Superintendent Clark of the University hospital gives somc interestin, facts in his report for the year ending Tuly lst. The total number of persons admit ted during the past year was 1459. Of these 835 were males and (24 females Sixteen states and two foreigncountrie.3 were represented, Michig-an having the largest number, 1291. Of these 517 were from Vashtenaw county. A classilication of the pationts with re(tard to oocupation shows that 341 were housewifes, 291 students, 209 farmers', 86 laborera and 40 domestica wliile the rest are scattering througli almost all lines of work. Wliile the average expense ol' each patiënt lias been only about 618 ftr board, treatment, and medicines, tne receipts have been nearly equal to the expendí tures and the amount appropriated by the regents was only about $1,700. The hospital has been crowded to its fullest capacity and more room is badly needed. ik
