The luxuriona and lucky country ïouse owners wlio eujoy the privileges of electricity have all their table light now shed froiu above - the green eleoric -wires dropped froia the ceiling over one table and endiug in a globe of glass containing the lights. Upon thia globe lts a easing of rosy silk and a network of gilt cords, froru whioh, just above iho center of the board, hangs au aeronaut's basket of gildedwicker fllled nofc with miniature balloonists, but flowera and vines that fall out aad trail over the cloth. Japanese lanterns are also suspended froru the ceiliug by cords or to wall brackets with protruding arms. These lanterns are a trifle more pcusive than the cheap ones usea in Dutdoor illumination. Thcy are made of paper, decorated as formerly, bnt are lined with mica, aud the cañdle socket - in fact, tho entire bottom - ia made of painted tin. Hung in the hallwaya along the stairs, in the draw ing room or w hereever a very raild light is needed, these lanterns are delightfnl. The candles within them are cheap, throw out a minimum of heat, and do not attraot insects, all of which are high recommendations for service on warm evenings. Attention and consequently vast improvement has been given to the hurable bedroom candle we are all advised to use in place of gas or ' lamps, wheu the mercury climbs very high, and instead of turning on the gas one will be enabled to read niusic at the piano by cool candlelight. For the piano, too, light brackets, easily fastened to any instrument, jnt out froni either side of the musio rack and hold a candle each. Their shades aro mado of silk on strong frames and are cut open ou that sideturned toward the musió sheet, but avcay from the musirían. Under the silk screen ia also fastened a small reflector, so distribnting light and shade where it is needed. The bedroom eandles, vhich fasten into brackets at either side tbe dressing table ruirror, aro similarly equipped, throwing broad rays on the looking glass, but sb.adows into the room.
