John Carson, a 17-year-old mulatto from thia city, was killed at the Industrial school Tuesday morning. Carson arose at 5:45, when the first bell rang, and went into the washroom and made ready for breakfast. While waitiug for the seoond bell to ring he threw back his shoulders, inhaled a long breath, and asked a companion to strike him 'on the chest. The lad did so, but the blow was too light to suit j Carson, and he called on another boy to test his chest. The blow this boy delivered was aiso unsatisfactory, and then Carson asked Frank Marclin, a mulatto boy about his own age, wbo is powerfully built, to hit him. Mardin landed a blow on Carson's solar plexus and the lad toppled over. He was dead when the physician, Dr. H. A, Hagadorn, reached his side. The doctor said that death resulted from paralysis I of the heart. Ko blame is attached to young Mardia. The coroner's jury is expected to return a verdict of accidental doath.
