The electric hghting eystem is still unfinished, and delay in getting the engines makes it seem probable that are ights on the campus beforo November first will be nil. This delay is causing ome hardship which is feit especially about the gymnasium. Many more tudents flock to that building than vere able to do so last year ; but there s no way to light up aad classes cannot e conducted since it is so dark before men are able to dress and get away. The freshman and sophomore girls eel the inconvenience more perhaps ihan anybody else, and little feminine wear words are poured forth every ay because there is no place to hold he "freshman spread." This spread s not a co-educationalfunctioD, though o-eds alone attend it. The sophomore girls make all arrangements, pay the money, buy the flowers, furnish the hacks and take their freshmen sisters. STo horrid men are allowed and the o-iris dance by themselves. The spread vill be postponed some weeks, and will ake place as soon as the gym can be ighted.
