The New York World publishes a very sensational lengthy article on the worklngs of the Wall street strect pool which is seeking to obtain control of the Union Pacific railroad. 'f he World in substance saysi A steal in vol ving an immediate loss to the government of L20,000,000 and an ultímate loss of over $50,000,000 wlíl be consummated within thö next 2ü days unless President McKinley interposes his authorlty and protoots the people. The Union Pacific Rallway Co. owes the government over 5553,000,000. A pool of Wall street bankers has engace-.-, in a scheme of reorganization which contemplates the payraent of G2 per ernt to the g-oTernmont, er lees than 833,000,000, while aeourities subordinato to that of the government will obtain 175 per cent upon their claims. All the legal rights which the government might avall of in the pursuit of the plundercrs who rifjcd the company treasury are tobe abandoned, and terms of salo have been flxcd which absolutely bar every form qf compctition and give the pool a big prize. The World also publishes scandalous rumors tracing a connection bctwecn this colossal steal and the snbscriptions of Wall street to the Hacina campaign finid of 189ü and the seiection of at least one prominent cabinet official. .
