Oliver Martin went to Detroit, Monday on business. Dean Seabolt attended the Carnival at Grand Raplds, last week. Glen V. Mills has completed his direetories of Niles and Grand Rapids. Captain Calhoun is the new coinrnander of the Salvation Army in this city. M. C. Peterson Ie ft for Port Huron, upon the conclusiĆ³n of the Richards trial. Miss Violet McLaren has been elected president of the girl's branch of the Y. W. C. A. S. P. Tedrow, a Pennsylvania man, visited his brother, Rev. W. L. Tedrow last week. J. A. Leroy, sporting editor of the Free Press, attended the Alumni foot ball game Saturday. Miss Berta Sherrod, formerly well bnown here, is now society editor of the Detroit Journal. Miss Louise Decker, of Bay City, visited the Alpha Phi society last week, but has returned home. Mrs. Geo. H. Pond has entertained her brother, Mr. A. G. Bushnell, of Branch county, for several days. Karl Harriman, of the Detroit Journal, was in town Saturday visiting his parentsand watchingthe Alumni'game. Prof. G. P. Coler and Rev. W. M. Forrest are in Ionia attending the annual convention of theChristian oburch. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Butler gave a most delightful Hallowe'en party at their home on Jefferson street, Friday night. Judge of Probate Newkirk and wife, of Ann Arbor, visited S. R. Crittenden and family the last of the week. - Saline Observer. Miss Luella Rogers, who has spent the past eight months in Plymouth and Detroit with her aunt, Mrs. Iloyt, returned home last Saturday night. Rev. and Mrs. W.E. Upon their release from jail Friday, Lyons and Larkins went home, while Rupert Jones, the third released prisoner, remained in the city a few days to visit his uncle. Mrs. W. F. Crandall. and Mrs. W.
