Th3 first foot ball game of the class series was played Friday afternoon between the freshmen apd sophoroqre Hts and resulted in a tie, nejther side being ablo to score, The field was muddy from the recent rains and the playlng hard. On the whole the freshmen did the better playingr, Nichols, Beagle and Whilcomb doinsr specially good work. Por the sophmores McLean made most of the gains and pro ved himself a good man. Several men at flrst selected for the class teams were protested chiefly because they had played on the 'Vawity or on the resLrves. Tho followiug pi-otests were granted ; 'Ü8, Pel], Armstrong, :99, Thomas, itiohardson, '00; Hodgman, Syraons; '00 Ij. Allen; '98 L. Pagelson. Decioion was reserved on Stuck, '99. Neal, Stache, Zwul and Armstrong, of '01, areallowed to play by agroement of '00. Walzer, '00, was also allowed to play by agreement.
