Electrified Rain In Spain

Maurlce Despres, an electrical engineer of Cürdova, Spain, reporta a remarkable shower of electrified rain whlch Le recently wltnessed. The day had been warm and wlndless, and about 5 in the evoning the sim was overcast with dense clouds, lowermg to the horizon. Soon affcer dark there was a flash of lightning, and two minutes later great drops of rain feil, which cracked faintly on touching the ground. From each of them sparks darted toward the walls, trees and soil they feil upon. Tho phenomenon lasted several seconds, and apparently ceased when the air between cloud and earth becanie saturated with moisture.
