Starting out with appearances on late night TV, by the early 1970's the Muppets' combination of insane mayhem, absurd humor and genuine sweetness had made them all famous. And for good reason too! Any good performing act can bring the house down at the end of a show, but only the Muppets would do it with actual dynamite.
