Well-Versed in Amherst

Okay, we get it. You are stuck in your house. So are we. But that doesn't mean you can't still do great things! Plenty of people throughout history have accomplished amazing stuff while rarely going out. Let's start our journey into these homebodies with a woman who almost never went out but still managed to have a number of intimate friendships--and become one of the greatest poets in U.S. history!

If you read it like this: "Search for the year they were first published how she wrote them (that is, mostly how she wrote them)", then it makes more sense. (It took me several reads to figure it out, too!)

A hint: Clue #3 says, "Figure out what the line "Yield such an Alcohol" was changed to" -- but actually the answer is only what the word "Alcohol" was changed to, not the replacement for the whole phrase.

I'm having trouble with the 4th code. I have tried several different names and years but none have worked.
