Crossing the Isle
Kids are the heart of most Wes Anderson movies: kids and their relationships to their parents, kids trying to overcome expectations, kids trying to find a family. Moonrise Kingdom has all of that, but it also has something that few Anderson movies have: actual kids. The kids are usually grownup and dealing with these things, but in this movie they are really kids, kids on the cusp of leaving the messy, cruel world of childhood and joining the messy, cruel world of adults.
