Description
Discover the process of drawing subtractively, or more specifically, creating a drawing by removing a medium as opposed to adding it. This is often achieved by covering the page with a layer of a medium like charcoal and then removing areas of it with an eraser to create a drawing.
For this activity, you will need paper, a soft rag or chamois, erasers (a variety if possible), and charcoal. If you don't have charcoal, graphite pencil can work as a substitute! As always, if you don’t have everything on this list, don’t worry – feel free to be creative and find substitutions for any supplies you may not have on hand.
