The trial of Clarence Hawkins, 27, formerly of 838 Short St., Ypsilanti, for the murder of Dell Cain, 36, of 610 S. Huron St., Ypsilanti, was started today before a circuit court jury.
Hawkins has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge. Cain was found next to his car in a field near Willow Village on Sept. 16. Police said he died from loss of blood from a stab wound in the chest.
