Presented by the Summer Festival and the Ann Arbor District Library, the Not Too Close events took place in August 2020 in select city parks.

Dani Darling is a chanteuse from Ann Arbor, MI with an experimental lo-fi sound that is intimate and poetic. Her influences are Billie Holiday, Old Hollywood movie scores, love, and the Universe. She was Current Magazine’s “Artist to Watch in 2019”, and she is The Detroit Metro Times “Artist to Watch in 2020”. After releasing her first official single and video “2:22” to critical acclaim from Nylon Magazine, and The Singers Room. Her EP “Nocturne.” followed making The Detroit Metro Time’s Best Releases of 2019 list. She performs with her band in Michigan, NYC, Toronto and has performed in Paris, Rome, and Edinburgh.

The Summer Festival worked closely with the City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Department to deliver this socially distanced concert. In accordance with the governor’s executive orders at the time, attendance was capped at 100 people for each event.
