Mrs. Emma H. Riggs
Mrs. Emma Hynes Riggs, 88, widow of Prof. Henry Earle Riggs, who taught in the University College of Engineering, died Friday at her home in Ft. Worth, Tex.
She was born Jan. 1867, in Greenville, Ill., a daughter of Samuel B. and Ellen Hynes. On Oct. 1, 1890, she married Prof. Riggs in Los Angeles, Calif. The couple moved to Ann Arbor in 1911. Prof. Riggs died six years ago. Mrs. Riggs was graduated from Lindenwood College in Missouri and the University of Kansas.
Mrs. Riggs, who belonged to the Congregational Church, is survived by four children, all of whom were graduated from the University. They are Samuel H. of Liberal, Kas., Joseph A. of Hinsdale, Ill., Finley B. of Mobile, Ala., and Mrs. James M. Miller of Lake Forest, Ill. She is also survived by 20 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow in the Congregational Church with the Rev. Leonard A. Parr officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery. The family has asked that friends omit flowers. Friends may call at the Muehlig Chapel until noon tomorrow.
