Rochelle Riley, author and former award winning columnist at the Detroit Free Press, discusses her latest book, That They LivedTwenty African Americans Who Changed The World.

Rochelle Riley is an author, essayist, blogger and child advocate who spent nearly a quarter century as a columnist until she left in 2019 to focus on the arts. Now Director of Arts and Culture for the City of Detroit, she is a member of the Michigan and North Carolina journalism Halls of Fame and the International Women's Forum.  Rochelle is also the author of the critically acclaimed book, The Burden: African Americans and the Enduring Impact of Slavery  (or downloadable ebook).
