Alice Mae Burmeister, 20, of 10150 Burmeister Rd., Bridgewater township, who was drowned early this morning in Portage lake, in an accident which is believed to have taken the lives of four other companions, was born May 16, 1923, in Bridgewater township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Burmeister.

She attended the Bridgewater elementary school and was graduated from the Saline High school in 1942. She was employed by the International Industries.

She is survived by her parents and by four sisters, Maxine G., Joyce R., Carol E., and Gail Linda, all at home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Monday at the Burmeister home and at 2 o'clock at St. John's church at Bridgewater, where Miss Burmeister was a member. Rev. M. C. Phillips will officiate and burial will be in St. John's cemetery. Friends may call at the home.
