YPSILANTI - Mrs. Lenora M. Ensign, 78, of 727 Lowell St., an Ypsilanti resident some 56 years, died this morning at Beyer Memorial Hospital after suffering a stroke.

Mrs. Ensign was a member of the Congregational Church here, the Women's Guild of the church, Order of Eastern Star, the Degree of Honor, the Past President's Club of the Degree of Honor, the Daughters of Veterans, the Past Chiefs of the Daughters of Veterans, the Auxiliary of the Spanish-American War Veterans and the Summit Study Club.

Mrs. Ensign was born May 27, 1879, in Michigan City, Ind. She was the daughter of John and Sarah Albright Livings.

She attended schools in Michigan City and lived there until her marriage to Eliphalet E. Ensign on April 27, 1901, in Detroit, at which time she came to Ypsilanti. Mr. Ensign died Jan. 1, 1954.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. M. F. (Lucille) Marcoux of Lanesborough, Mass.; a son, E. Edwin of Ypsilanti; two brothers, Charles C. Livings of Ypsilanti and Bert Livings of Michigan City; a granddaughter, Mrs. Clyde (Alice) Benson of Alma; and a grandson, Thomas E. Ensign of Ypsilanti.
