Join AADL staff and other community members for a discussion of Passing (1929) by Nella Larsen. This short, exquisite novel of the Harlem Renaissance era examines the complications of secrecy through the reunion of 2 childhood friends; one who embraces her racial heritage, and one who passes for white as a means to gain wealth through marriage.

We'll start the discussion by asking what surprised you about this book.
