Description

In this part of our BLM discussion series we are highlighting books that explore how Black people move through the world. This discussion series celebrates Black authors and books, across genres, across time, and across the African diaspora.

This month, watch AADL staff and other community members discussĀ The Pretty one : on Life, pop Culture, Disability, and Other Reasons to Fall in Love With Me by Keah Brown. From the disability rights advocate and creator of the #DisabledAndCute viral campaign, a thoughtful, inspiring, and charming collection of essays exploring what it means to be black and disabled in a mostly able-bodied white America.

Next month we will be discussing The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl by Issa Rae. For more BLM Book discussions visit here.

This event is part of the 2022 Washtenaw Read. For more information about this year's Washtenaw Read, Being Heumann by Judith Heumann visit https://aadl.org/washtenawreads.
