Description

Rain or shine, a presentation about birding will begin at 10:30am. In the case of thunderstorms or heavy rain, additional material will be presented indoors in lieu of the walk.

Have you ever been curious about the feathered friends singing and flying around your home or in your parks? Are you looking for a fun activity to do outside with your family and friends? Join the Washtenaw Audubon Society for an introductory look at birding.  Learn about some of the reasons that birding can become a lifelong hobby, gather some tips on how one can begin this activity, and finally take a walk outside to see what birds can be found in our area. If you have binoculars, bring them along!  We'll have a few extra pairs for guests to share.

This program begins in the Traverwood Program room with a brief introduction to birding, followed by a guided walk into nearby Stapp Nature Area, where we will practice what we've learned.  Participants are welcome to join at any point in this event.
