Choose Kindness

Since 1896, the Humane Society of Huron Valley has been serving the community—saving animals and helping people. HSHV is the only animal shelter in Washtenaw County, taking in all types of unwanted, injured, lost, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. Today, HSHV is a leader in animal welfare with over 5,000 annual adoptions and an amazing save rate of 97%. Dedicated to helping the community, HSHV provides a myriad of services including a low-cost vaccine clinic, pet food assistance, and stellar volunteer opportunities.

HSHV also provides humane education programs for youth! Research shows children who are taught kindness towards animals tend to mature into caring, responsible adults. HSHV’s humane education programs nurture the human-animal bond with the goal of making the world a kinder place. HSHV has fun and educational programs for youth of all ages with day camps, birthday parties, field trips, movie nights, and more. There are several programs specifically for kids that love both animals AND books! With several storytime programs for toddlers and a Rescue Reading program for elementary-aged youth to read to the adoptable animals, HSHV is combining a love for animals with a passion for reading!

You will find the code you seek on the Youth Programs page of the Humane Society of Huron Valley’s website. See the clue for more details!
